Featuring works of Fux, Bertali, Cima, Marini, and Castello, this program of chamber sonatas highlights two unique and rather obscure Baroque instruments: the cornett (also called the cornetto or zink), a lip-reed wind instrument made in both straight and curved forms, and the sackbut, the direct predecessor of the modern slide trombone.
